Written by Martin Hanoian

The Camp Fuller Board of Management (the Board) is instrumental in providing strategic direction, policy development and fund development while overseeing the operation of Camp Fuller. It is currently comprised of the following members:

Joseph Shapiro (Chair)
Anahid Avedesian
Joe Hearn
Jon Zucchi
Jonathan Geiger
Jake Kahn
Kevin Clare
Martin Hanoian
Patrick Martin-Tuite
Paul Sheinkopf
Tom Leasca
Liz Buddington
Peter Swain (Camp Director)

Fuller's Director, Peter Swain, is an integral part of all meetings, but he does not have a vote.

There are various standing committees (FInance, Buildings and Grounds, Alumni, Board Development, Annual Support), as wel as other special purpose committees created as necessary. From time to time, the Board will also invite non-Board members to participate on the committees or as special task forces, to utilize their particular areas of expertise to the fullest extent.

The Board has regular meetings six to eight times per year, usually at Camp Fuller. If warranted, special meetings can be called to handle unexpected circumstances.

Each Board member is elected to a three year term. No more than two terms may be served consecutively before a break is required. Board members are elected in a staggered fashion, to eliminate a potential large turnover at one time. The elections are held at the Annual Meeting in April of each year.

As in many volunteer organizations, the "chain of command" for this website is somewhat involved. The following list highlights some of the intermediate links in this chain:

  • The Fuller Alumni Connection is maintained by its webmaster.
  • The webmaster reports to the Camp Fuller Alumni Association.
  • The Camp Fuller Alumni Association is part of the Alumni Committee.
  • The Alumni Committee is a subcommittee of the Camp Fuller Board of Management.
  • The Camp Fuller Board of Management helps the Camp Fuller Director make decisions.
  • The Camp Fuller Director reports to the Greater Providence YMCA.
  • The Greater Providence YMCA (The Association) has its own structure, including multiple boards, multiple vice-presidents and a CEO.

Minor decisions may be made at the committee level. Decisions with larger impact require Camp Fuller Board or Association Board approval.
