ach article is assigned a Section and a Category.  The Sections are the major groupings of articles.  The Sections that are being used at fullerlaumni.org are:
  • Events (these articles describe upcoming and previous events)
  • History (these articles contain information about Fuller's past)
  • Giving (these articles describe how to help Fuller and how to make donations)
  • Store (these articles are related to the collectibles and other items for sale)
  • Alumni (these articles are concerned with alumni)
  • Help (these articles describe how to use the website and its features)
  • About (these articles describe the structure of the YMCA and Camp Fuller)
  • Publications (these articles are concerned with printed materials related to Fuller)
  • Newsflashes (these are short articles describing recent developments)
  • News (these articles describe noteworthy items that don't fit into other categories)
  • Website Files (special files used for the setup of the website)

Each Section is further divided into Categories.  This arrangement allows articles to be read in whichever type of grouping the user requires.  For a general grouping, all articles in a Section can be viewed together.  For a more specific grouping, only the articles within a chosen Category can be displayed.

For example, all of the articles in the History Section could be viewed, or just the articles in the Apaches and the Council Category of the History Section could be viewed.

The menu items in many cases mirror the Section headings.  There is an Events menu, a History menu, a Giving menu, a Store menu, an Alumni menu, a Help menu, an About menu and a Publications menu (within the History menu).  Within each of these menus, the last item will display all of the articles within that Section.  So, if one wanted to see all of the Events articles, just click on the last submenu item of the Events menu, which is labeled "All Events Articles".

The Articles menu is similar to this behavior, but a little different.  Each of its submenu items represent a Section and its last item will display all the articles on the website (with newest articles appearing first).

Each individual article usually has two sections:  the introduction and the rest of the article.  When multiple articles are listed together, usually just the introductory text is visible.  To see what is not visible, click on the "Read full article..." link at the end of the introductory text.

At the end of each article, "Next" and / or "Prev" buttons will appear.  These will scroll through other articles within the same category as the current article.

Just above the "Next" and "Prev" buttons is the comments area.  Anyone may read the comments, but only registered and logged in users may leave comments.  The number of "Hits" is also indicated, which represents the number of times a given full article has been read.  The "Email" button will email the article to the address of your choice.  Clicking on the "Bookmark" link will optn a display of a number of social bookmarking sites.  If you like an article and want to recommend it to others, click on one of these links.  You must have registered previously with the site you want to send your recommendation to.  If you want to add the article to the Favorites in your browser, click the "Set as Favorite" link.  You may also bookmark the article in your browser by clicking on the "Bookmark This Page" link in the middle of the right hand column.

If you have registered and are logged in, you may vote on how much you like a particular article.  Just below the title, there will be a set of five stars.  To vote, click on the star that represents the highest score you want to award to the article, with the best score being all the way to the right-most star.  If you thought an article was above average, click on the forth star from the left and your vote will be recorded.  If others have already voted, the average number of stars awarded will be indicated by having that number of stars filled in with a golden color.
