O n Saturday, July 19, 2008, Camp Fuller will host its annual Alumni Reunion! There will be an action-packed day of activities that will be fun for everyone. A regatta, the dedication of the Fuller bell, the induction of two new members into the Legends of Camp Fuller, a barbecue, a reunion Sun Productions concert and an after-hours acoustic version of Sun Prod are some of the events that will be taking place.
ONE PM START
The festivities will begin at 1:00 pm and will end at 10 pm or when
everyone wants to go home. Many of the program areas will also be open
for alumni and family use. (Please do not arrive before 12:30 p.m - campers will be leaving at
the end of the second session and we must keep the road open for them.)
REGATTA
The first event of the day will be the regatta, which will start at
1:00 pm. Attention all skippers and sailing aficianados! Enter your team and defend your
claim as 2008's best sailors
BELL DEDICATION

After the Regatta, we will be dedicating the new camp bell. This bell
was cast by Frederic H. Fuller in Providence, RI in 1883. This is the
same Fuller that the camp was named for. You can read all about how
camp ended up with this bell by reading the article about it by

LEGENDS OF CAMP FULLER HALL OF FAME INDUCTIONS
After the bell dedication, two new members will be inducted into the
Legends of Camp Fuller Hall of Fame. This Hall of Fame was created in 2006 to
honor those who given tirelessly of themselves and helped mold the camp
into what it is today. These exemplary individuals are honored so
current and future generations will be able to celebrate their
contributions to Camp Fuller. Our initial inductee, selected posthumously, was Jeffrey Jacober. This year, Frederic H. Fuller and Joe
Frisella are the inductees into the Legends of Camp Fuller Hall of Fame.
FREDERIC H. FULLER
As mentioned in the bell section, Mr. Fuller and his family cast the
bell that is the new arrival at camp. Mr. Fuller was also the
president of the Providence YMCA for almost 25 years in the early years
of the Y. One of his main contributions to Camp Fuller was the
acquisition of the land that camp is now on. Before Mr. Fuller's
intervention, camp would move around from site to site each year.
There was no physical "Camp Fuller". Mr. Fuller saw the need for a
permanent location for the Y's camp and he made his vision a reality.
Without him, there would be no Camp Fuller as it stands
today. We are all lucky that Mr. Fuller saw the benefits of camping so
many years ago. Thank you, Mr. Fuller! Accepting the honor for Mr.
Fuller will be a number of his relatives.
JOE FRISELLA
Our other inductee into the Legends of Camp Fuller Hall of Fame is Joe
Frisella. Over the years, Joe has always kept Camp Fuller in a special
place in his heart. Joe started out as a camper at Fuller in 1947, then he
became a staff member, Sailing Master (1958-59), Apache Chief, Silver Indian, Peg Leg
Pete and a Board of Management member. Joe and his engineering firm
have also helped camp during the design and construction phases of many
of camp's projects, especially in the septic system area. Joe has also
been involved with many regional and state-wide committees, including
Wetlands Task Force, RI Coastal Resources and the RI Department of Environmental
Management, Camp Fuller owes a big "Thank You" to Joe not only for all
the donations he has made to camp, but especially for volunteering his
time and expertise. Joe has always been a cheerful, smiling and joking
presence at every event he attends. If we all ask nicely, I'm sure he
will lead us all in a rousing rendition of Topnotcher!
BARBECUE
Following the inductions, there will be a barbecue dinner at the dining
hall. Hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, chips, fruit, desserts and other
items will be expertly prepared for our dining pleasure. Of course,
bug juice will be served!
SUNPROD
The finale to our day of celebration will be a Sun Prod performance by
our alumni, outside, from 7 to 10 pm. Our agreement with the neighbors
prohibits loud events after 10 pm, so after that time, we will move
back inside the dining hall and delight to the sounds of Sun Prod
Unplugged. If you would like to perform, please contact Larry Schwartz, our producer, by calling him at at (407) 660-2552 or by sending an email to
